Howard’s Walk Raises £1,360
Howard Tyers walked the 26 mile route of Birmingham’s famous Outer Circle on Sunday 5th November 2017 in aid of the Gorlin Syndrome Group.
Howard’s inspiration for the walk was in memory of his best man, Jim Costello, founder of the support group. Howard was also born with the condition and continues to battle through frequent operations for the removal of skin cancers, tumours and jaw cysts, along with other operations associated to Gorlin Syndrome.
We are extremely grateful to Howard and his friend/colleague Phil who accompanied Howard on the walk. Their enthusiasm, commitment, energy and no doubt humour along the way was key to successful completion of the route.
A surprise visit at the lunch break saw Jane Costello (Trustee) and her family arrive to show their acknowledgement and support of Howard and his wife Alison (picture below).
All the funds are now in (including Gift Aid) and we are pleased to report that the total raised amounted to £1,360.00.
On behalf of the Gorlin Syndrome Group Executive Committee special thanks are extended to all who supported and sponsored Howard. Your generosity has been amazing.
Donations and sponsorship of this nature ensure our continuing work. Once again well done and thank you to Howard and his sponsors.
